Shortridge Magnet High School

PROJECT PROFILE

A2SO4 has been an IPS On-Call Architect since 2002. From elevator access to science laboratory renovations, each project has been unique in its scope and scale and required innovative solutions to complete the work.

IPS No. 414 – Shortridge Magnet High School (2011)
A2SO4 is currently replacing the existing stage curtains and hand lines in the high school auditorium. The project also included a proposed design to re-finish the stage floor.

IPS No. 417 Broad Ripple Magnet High School (2011)
This project involved an extensive roof replacement that required a complete tear off down to the structural deck. New perimeter metal, insulation and a new EPDM roof membrane was installed.

IPS No. 424 John Marshall Community High School (2010)
A2SO4 prepared a design and cost study for the high school football stadium renovation that called for new bleachers, rest room facilities, concessions facilities and field lighting.

IPS No. 69 Joyce Kilmer School (2006)
A2SO4 was hired to survey one science lab and its associated work room and evaluate all components that could be re-used to construct and fit-outt new labs at School 69. The evaluation included identifying each piece of casework, furniture and equipment in the science labs at IPS New Beginnings school and at IPS Horizon school and reconfiguring the pieces to fit-out two classroom spaces at IPS Joyce Kilmer School.

IPS Phase 1 Capital Improvements
Improvements included the renovation of 5 IPS middle and high school science labs.

IPS School No. 26 John Hope Academy School (2006)
This on-call project involved repairs to the aging masonry. New membrane ashing and metal coping caps for the parapets were specified and installed.

IPS School No. 107 (2006)
An entrance canopy and a sidewalk was replaced for this school. In addition, site storm water drainage was improved.

IPS School No. 572 Emma Donnan Middle School (2004)
A2SO4 was responsible for repairing all of the storm/tornado damage.

ADA Grant Projects – IPS Schools 56, 74, 82, 93, 106 (2003)
The focus of this grant was to make the various school buildings wheelchair accessible by installing either an internal or external elevator with connecting levels and a stage lift. All of these schools also received button-operable doors with interconnected intercoms and security card readers at the accessible entrances.

IPS No. 420 – T.C. Howe Middle/High School (2002)
A2SO4 designed and renovated 6 science labs in the existing high school.
