PROJECT PROFILE

The Charles A. Tindley Accelerated School targets high school students at-risk of dropping out of school and focuses on preparing them for college. This school, based on the nationally model for Accelerated schools is one of the first accelerated high schools in the country and a pilot for the National Center for Acclerated Schools.

The 54,000 sf school was renovated from a former 75,000 sf grocery store to accommodate the functional needs of a 400 student charter high school. Programming included classrooms and science labs for grades 9-12, a multi-purpose space, a regulation gymnasium, offices and administrative spaces.
